Applications
JS flat motors combined with a brake unit are also used as circular saw motors. Our flat motors have a right-hand or left-hand thread at the end of the shaft, depending on the individual case. From 1.1 kW to 2.2 kW, the drives are available with an input voltage of 230 V; from 1.5 kW to 7.5 kW, with an input voltage of 400 V. In many cases, electric motors converted to flat motor are needed to be designed to match customer's individual requirements. Here the narrow design is crucial. However, the main application of this type of electric motor is in circular saws.

On this page, you will find a selection of flat motors in aluminium design of the size 58 -81 with a power of 1.1 kW, 1.5 kW, 1.8 kW, 2.2 kW, 3.0 kW, 4 kW, 5.5 kW or 7.5 kW.
Electronic brake units
Electronic brakes are used to decelerate asynchronous motors with squirrel-cage rotor and 1PH AC capacitor start motors so that motion is stopped within 10 seconds after the motor is turned off. Brake switches are available for external installation in 1.1 - 7.5 kW motors.
Duty cycle of a JS- flat motor
JS offers flat motors rated on S6 duty cycle. Here is a short overview of the common duty cycles for electric motors: S1 (continuous duty), S2 (short time duty), S3 (intermittent periodic duty without starting, without braking), S4 (intermittent periodic duty with starting, without braking), S5 (intermittent periodic duty with electric braking, with starting), S6 (continuous operation with intermittent load = period at load followed by a period at no load without motor stopping), S7 (continuous operation with electric braking), S8 (continuous operation with periodic changes in load and speed).
